Former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo have arrived for the National Council meeting of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the party’s national executives elections at Kumasi on October 3, 2026 .
The meeting is expected to bring together key leaders and members of the party’s National Council to deliberate on matters concerning the party and its ongoing preparations ahead of its internal elections.
Dr Bawumia, who was the NPP’s 2024 presidential candidate, and Nana Akufo-Addo were among the prominent party figures present at the gathering.
The National Council meeting comes as the NPP advances its internal reorganisation and electoral processes leading to the election of new national executives.
The party is expected to use the meeting to consider key organisational and political issues as it prepares for the next phase of its activities
