As part of efforts to ensure compliance of the Public Financial Management Act 2025, the Finance Ministry has introduced a strict Compliance Desk to ensure that ministries and all other covered entities operate in full alignment with the new Public Financial Management Act,2025.
This was disclosed by the sector Minister, Dr. Casiel Ato Forson at a meeting with the World Bank Africa team led by Vice President, Ousmane Diagana.
Addressing the delegation, Dr. Forson underscored the pressing need to address fiscal indiscipline, especially within entities that have been awarding contracts without proper commencement certificates: practices that have led to significant slippages in their budget execution.
He noted further that, “Even more critically, we have introduced a strict Compliance Desk to ensure that ministries and all other covered entities operate in full alignment with the new Public Financial Management Act,2025”.
Adding that, the Compliance Desk will not only enforce adherence but will also be accompanied by a Compliance League table to assess and publicly rank institutions.
He however cautioned that “those who consistently refuse to comply will face sanctions, transparency and accountability must be our hallmark”.
He assured the team that the Ministry remains committed to meeting all agreed prior actions and ensuring efficiency and impact in every programme it undertakes.
On his part, the Vice President, Diagna congratulated the Minister on his recent nomination and reaffirmed the Bank’s strong partnership with Ghana.
He noted that Ghana stands as a beacon of hope in the sub-region, both politically and socially.
“Together, we will continue to build a stronger, more disciplined, and prosperous Ghana”, he concluded.
