The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana EXIM Bank, Slyvester Mensah, has joined the Awoamefia of Anlo State, Togbui Sri III, the Overlord of the Anlo State, traditional leaders, government officials and residents to inaugurate the Togbui Sri III Astroturf at Hogbe Park in Anloga.
The newly completed sports facility is expected to provide opportunities for youth development, community recreation, football talent development and other economic activities in the Anlo state.
Speaking at the inauguration, Mr Mensah said the project demonstrated Ghana EXIM Bank’s commitment to using development finance to deliver sustainable economic and social impact.
He explained that the Bank financed the project to provide a modern, world-class playing surface that would serve the community for years while creating opportunities for young people and supporting local economic activity.
Mr Mensah commended Togbui Sri III for his vision and commitment to the development of Anlo state, while also acknowledging the contribution of Togbi Agbesi Awusu II, Awadada of Anlo Dukor, to the successful execution of the project.
He further expressed appreciation to the Volta Regional and local authorities, the contractor, technical team and other stakeholders whose efforts contributed to the completion of the facility.
According to the Ghana EXIM Bank CEO, the inauguration marks more than the completion of a sports facility, describing it as an investment in the future of the Anlo community.
He, however, stressed the need for the facility to be properly managed and fully utilised to maximise its benefits to residents.
Mr Mensah noted that the success of the project should be measured not only by the number of football matches played at the facility but also by the opportunities it creates for young people, livelihoods it supports and its broader impact on the community.
He reaffirmed Ghana EXIM Bank’s commitment to financing transformational projects that empower communities, unlock opportunities and contribute to Ghana’s sustainable development.
Mr Mensah congratulated the people of Anlo State on the addition of the facility and expressed hope that the Togbui Sri III Astro turf would become a lasting symbol of excellence, unity and opportunity.
