President John Dramani Mahama and National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, on Friday paid their final respects to the late Ambassador James Victor Gbeho as his body lay in state at the forecourt of the State House in Accra.
The solemn ceremony brought together family members, government officials, diplomats, traditional leaders, political figures and mourners to honour the memory of the distinguished Ghanaian diplomat and statesman.
President Mahama joined mourners in filing past the casket to pay his last respects, acknowledging Ambassador Gbeho’s immense contribution to Ghana’s diplomacy, governance and international relations.
Asiedu Nketiah also paid tribute to the late diplomat, whose decades of public service earned him national and international recognition.
Ambassador James Victor Gbeho served Ghana in several high-profile diplomatic and public service roles, including as Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration and later as President of the ECOWAS Commission, where he played a key role in promoting regional integration, peace and security in West Africa.
