Life Care Technology has donated state-of-the-art medical equipment and consumables to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF) to enhance specialist healthcare services and improve patient outcomes across the country.
The donation, made under the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, comprises an Olympus Endoscopy Tower for gastroscopy and colonoscopy, complete with accessories, 10 jaundice meters, and a range of anaesthesia accessories and consumables.
The equipment is expected to significantly strengthen the diagnostic and treatment capabilities of beneficiary health facilities.
Presenting the donation, the Chief Executive Officer of Life Care Technology, Bishoy Hanna, said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to supporting quality healthcare delivery and saving lives.
He noted that the company’s values closely align with the Ghana Medical Trust Fund’s mission of expanding access to specialist healthcare services for all Ghanaians.
Mr Hanna commended the Trust Fund for its achievements since its establishment, particularly its investments in life-saving medical infrastructure and support for patients living with chronic and life-threatening conditions.
He expressed confidence that the donated equipment would make a meaningful difference in patient care and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to partnering the Trust Fund to strengthen Ghana’s healthcare system.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Trust Fund, the Administrator, Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, described the gesture as a timely intervention that would help save many lives.
She explained that the donation directly supports one of the Trust Fund’s four core mandates, which focuses on equipping specialist health facilities with modern medical equipment to improve access to quality healthcare across the country.
“Our work is built on four core pillars, and one of our highest priorities is ensuring that specialist hospitals are equipped with modern, life-saving medical equipment.
This generous donation directly supports that mandate, and we are sincerely grateful that Life Care Technology has chosen to partner with us in this important national effort,” she said.
Ms Darko-Opoku disclosed that a nationwide needs assessment conducted across tertiary and regional hospitals identified endoscopy systems, jaundice meters and anaesthesia equipment among the country’s most urgently required medical devices.
She assured the company that the donated equipment would be deployed immediately to health facilities where the need is greatest rather than being kept in storage.
“The equipment you have presented today features prominently among the critical needs identified during our nationwide assessment. We will ensure that these items are quickly deployed to hospitals that urgently require them so patients can begin benefiting without delay,” she stated.
Ms Darko-Opoku also encouraged corporate organisations to take advantage of the 100 per cent tax relief available for donations made to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, describing it as an opportunity for businesses to contribute meaningfully to national healthcare while fulfilling their corporate social responsibility commitments.
She called on more companies to emulate Life Care Technology’s example by partnering with the Trust Fund to improve healthcare infrastructure and expand access to specialist medical services across Ghana.
