Former Vice President and 2028 New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has led a high-level party delegation to the Ashanti Region for a closed-door engagement with regional executives and key stakeholders following recent developments involving Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
The meeting brought together prominent party figures, including former Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, Akuapem North Member of Parliament Sammi Awuku, Effiduase-Asokore MP Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie, constituency executives, and party elders.
Discussions focused on the implications of the recent developments surrounding Chairman Wontumi, their impact on the party’s structure in the region, and measures to strengthen unity and chart a way forward ahead of the 2028 general elections.
