Dzifa Tegah Intensifies Reduce Rejected Ballots Campaign.

The National Deputy Women’s Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC),Miss Felicia Dzifa Tegah, has intensified efforts to reduce the number of rejected ballots ahead of the 2024 elections, with a particular focus on the party’s strongholds.

Dzifa Tegah kicked off her campaign in the Volta Region, engaging prospective voters, including the vulnerable, the elderly, and first-time voters, to educate them on proper voting procedures. Her campaign has since expanded to cover Ashanti, Bono, Bono East, Ahafo, Western, Upper East, Upper West, Savannah, North East, and the Northern Regions.

Addressing party supporters during her tour, Dzifa Tegah stressed the importance of reducing rejected ballots, which she said disproportionately affect the NDC. “Rejected ballots are a serious issue for the NDC, especially in our strongholds. Parliamentary elections are won by a simple majority, so even one spoiled vote can make a difference. It’s crucial that voters cast their ballots correctly and wisely,” she said.

She highlighted the troubling rise in rejected ballots between the 2016 and 2020 general elections, where the number nearly doubled from 167,349 to 313,397. “If we conduct a thorough audit, we may find that many of these rejected votes came from NDC supporters,” Dzifa Tegah noted.

Her campaign will continue across the remaining regions as the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections approach.
