The Member of Parliament for North Tongu and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has donated 100 chest freezers to market women in Juapong to support their businesses during the temporary relocation period for the construction of the Mahama 24-Hour Economy Market.
The donation forms part of efforts to cushion traders who have been moved to pave the way for the development of the new market facility, which is expected to improve trading conditions and expand economic opportunities in the area.
Mr Okudzeto Ablakwa said the welfare and empowerment of his constituents remained a key priority, adding that the support was aimed at helping the affected traders maintain their livelihoods during the transition.
The Mahama 24-Hour Economy Market project is part of government’s broader initiative to modernise market infrastructure, promote local commerce and create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
The North Tongu MP assured market women and other residents of his continued commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance economic empowerment and improve the living conditions of constituents.
