The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has inaugurated a new office in Asuogyaman in the Eastern Region as part of efforts to expand access to driver and vehicle licensing services across the country.
The new office is expected to strengthen the Authority’s presence in the district and bring essential licensing services closer to residents, reducing the need for people to travel long distances to access DVLA services.
The opening forms part of the DVLA’s broader plan to establish 40 new offices across the country by the end of the year as it expands its service delivery network.
With the opening of the Asuogyaman office, the DVLA has now unveiled its 25th new office this year, marking significant progress towards its 40-office target.
The new facility is expected to improve convenience for residents seeking services related to driver licensing and vehicle registration, among other functions of the Authority.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Member of Parliament for Asuogyaman and Deputy Minister for Finance, Hon. Thomas Nyarko Ampem; Minister for Transport, Hon. Joseph Bukari Ninkpe; Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey; Chief Executive of the DVLA, Mr Julius Neequaye Kotey; the District Chief Executive for Asuogyaman; traditional leaders and other dignitaries.

The Authority remains on course to achieve its target of 40 new offices by the end of the year as part of its efforts to decentralise its operations and bring services closer to the public.
