Police have shut down Shatta Wale’s Shattafest UK 2026 after a stampede at the venue reportedly left several people injured.

The decision was announced during the event, with a police officer informing patrons that the concert had been cancelled on public safety grounds following the incident.

According to the officer, the stampede resulted in multiple injuries, making it unsafe for the event to continue.

“There’s been a massive accident—a stampede—which has led to a number of people being hurt,” the officer told the crowd.

“For that reason, and in the interest of public safety, the event has to be shut down.”

The officer acknowledged the inconvenience caused to fans, many of whom had travelled long distances and purchased tickets to attend the concert.

“I appreciate that many of you have made a long journey and paid good money to be here,” he said, advising attendees to contact the event organisers regarding refunds or other arrangements.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the number of people injured or the severity of their injuries. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the stampede are expected to continue.

The organisers of Shattafest UK 2026 are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
