The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) and Stanbic Bank Ghana have discussed ways to deepen their long-standing partnership and mobilise financing to support the development of Ghana’s cocoa industry.
The discussions took place when COCOBOD Chief Executive, Dr Ransford Anertey Abbey, together with management, received a delegation from Stanbic Bank Ghana at Cocoa House in Accra.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to officially introduce Anne Aliker, Executive Head of Corporate and Investment Banking for African regions, to the management of COCOBOD.
The two institutions explored areas of mutual interest, with particular focus on financing cocoa rehabilitation, plantation development, processing and cocoa purchasing through domestic financing instruments.
The engagement also reviewed the existing partnership between COCOBOD and Stanbic Bank Ghana and identified opportunities to strengthen collaboration in support of the cocoa sector.
Dr Abbey and the Stanbic Bank delegation reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation and supporting initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable cocoa production.
They also emphasised the importance of increasing domestic value addition and creating a stronger foundation for the long-term development of Ghana’s cocoa industry.
