President John Dramani Mahama has opened the North-Shore Apparel Ghana, a garment manufacturing hub in Savelugu in the Northern Region, as part of efforts to boost industrialisation and create employment opportunities for young people.
The facility is expected to create more than 2,000 jobs, providing new employment opportunities while strengthening Ghana’s garment and fashion industry.
The establishment of the manufacturing hub is seen as a significant development for the Northern Region, where increased industrial activity is expected to support local economic growth and improve livelihood opportunities.
The project is also expected to contribute to the government’s broader agenda of promoting domestic manufacturing, expanding job opportunities and positioning Ghana’s fashion and garment sector for greater competitiveness.
The opening of North-Shore Apparel Ghana is therefore expected to mark an important step towards industrial growth and youth employment, particularly in the Northern Region.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to promote job creation, expand Ghana’s industrial base and ensure that young people have greater opportunities to participate in the country’s economic development.
