The President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, has paid a courtesy call on Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Ireland, H.E. Mrs. Sabah Zita Benson, as part of his working visit to the United Kingdom.
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between the Ghana High Commission and the GJA, while highlighting the critical role of the media in promoting national development and advancing Ghana’s interests.
The two sides also discussed issues affecting Ghanaian students abroad, particularly those under government-sponsored programmes, and the need for accurate, balanced and responsible media coverage of related matters.
Mr. Dwumfour commended the High Commissioner for what he described as her exemplary leadership and efforts in promoting Ghana’s interests and deepening engagement with the Ghanaian community in the United Kingdom.
He reaffirmed the GJA’s commitment to fostering partnerships that support responsible journalism and contribute to national development.
The engagement forms part of efforts to enhance cooperation between Ghana’s diplomatic missions and media institutions in promoting Ghana’s image internationally.
