The Concerned Youth of Tema has commended the Managing Director of TDC Ghana Limited, Mr. Courage Makafui Nunekpeku, for what it describes as an unprecedented donation of buses and other support to three traditional councils within the Tema enclave.
The gesture, which took place on Monday, July 13, 2026, saw TDC Ghana Limited donate three 16-seater buses to the Tema Traditional Council, Nungua Traditional Council, and Kpone Traditional Council to support their activities and operations.
As part of the support package, the company also presented food items, including bags of rice, assorted drinks, and bottled water to assist with preparations for the 2026 Homowo festival celebrations.
In addition, Mr. Nunekpeku donated GHS72,000 to cover fuel expenses for the operation of the buses over the next four months.
Representatives of the beneficiary traditional councils expressed appreciation for the support, describing the donation as unprecedented in the history of TDC Ghana Limited’s relationship with the traditional authorities in the area.
According to the traditional leaders, the buses will significantly improve mobility and facilitate the smooth organisation of traditional events and community activities.
One spokesperson for the councils praised the initiative, stating that leaders who translate intentions into practical support play an important role in addressing community needs and promoting development.
The Concerned Youth of Tema, in a statement, lauded Mr. Nunekpeku and the management of TDC Ghana Limited for what it described as visionary leadership and a strong commitment to community development.
The group noted that the intervention would contribute significantly to the welfare of residents and support traditional institutions in Tema, Nungua, and Kpone as they prepare for this year’s Homowo festivities.
