A massive gas leakage has been reported at Tema Community 7, near the Tema Technical Institute bus stop.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), which announced the incident in a Facebook post on Tuesday, July 28, said firefighters have been deployed to the area to contain the situation.
According to the Service, personnel from the Tema Industrial Area and Motorway fire stations are currently at the scene.
“Firefighters from Tema Industrial Area and Motorway have been dispatched to the scene to contain the situation,” the GNFS stated.
The Fire Service has advised motorists, residents and other people within the community to cooperate with emergency personnel and adhere to safety protocols.
“Motorists and people within the community are advised to comply with our officers and to follow safety protocols as we work hard to contain the situation,” it added.
The cause of the leakage and its exact source are yet to be established.
