The Ghana Football Association has appointed Carlos Queiroz as head coach of the Black Stars following the dismissal of Otoo Addo after a string of underwhelming performances.
Queiroz, a vastly experienced tactician, is expected to lead Ghana’s campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, to be hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The Portuguese coach has a strong World Cup résumé, having previously guided South Africa, Portugal and Iran at different editions of the tournament.
He takes over immediately, with preparations already underway ahead of the competition’s kickoff on June 11, 2026.
Ghana will begin their World Cup journey against Panama in Toronto on June 17, before facing England and Croatia in their remaining group matches.
