Ghana’s Ambassador to South Korea, Kojo Choi, has welcomed National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, and other members of Ghana’s governance community to Seoul for the Inter-Continental Dialogue among Political Parties Conference.
The delegation includes Benedicta Lasi, Chair of the Executive Council of the Africa Governance Centre (AGC), alongside other governance and political stakeholders.
The conference provides a platform for political parties, democratic institutions and governance leaders from different continents to exchange experiences and discuss shared challenges confronting democratic governance.
The engagement also builds on Ghana’s efforts to promote interparty dialogue and democratic cooperation beyond the country’s borders.
In August 2025, the Africa Governance Centre convened the inaugural African Political Parties Summit (APPS 2025) in Accra, bringing together political leaders and representatives from across Africa and beyond.
The summit focused on strengthening interparty dialogue, democratic governance and political cooperation and culminated in the adoption of the Accra Declaration.
The current engagement in Seoul is seen as an extension of that initiative, taking the conversation from Accra to an international platform involving political communities from different continents.
The discussions were expected to provide an opportunity for participants to share experiences on democratic governance, political cooperation and the challenges facing political institutions.
For Ghana, the engagement offers a platform to share its democratic experience while participating in broader international conversations on the future of democracy.
