Executive members of the African Refiners and Distributors Association (ARDA) are in Ghana to understudy the operations of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) as part of efforts to enhance regulatory and operational standards in the downstream petroleum sector across Africa.

The delegation, led by ARDA Executive Secretary Mr. Anibor Ohale Kragha, is on a study tour to learn from the NPA’s best practices that could help strengthen petroleum regulation and distribution among ARDA member countries.

Welcoming the delegation, NPA Chief Executive, Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo (Esq.), expressed the Authority’s commitment to knowledge sharing, describing the engagement as a vital peer-to-peer learning opportunity.

Mr. Tameklo recalled participating in the recent ARDA Week celebration in Cape Town, South Africa, where industry players gathered to share ideas and provide constructive feedback.

He emphasised that such collaborations are key to improving Africa’s energy sector.

In his remarks, Mr. Kragha praised the NPA for its leadership and continued support to the ARDA Executive Committee.

He noted that the visit would provide valuable insights to enhance refining and distribution operations across the continent.

As part of the tour, officials from various NPA directorates, including the Unified Petroleum Pricing Fund (UPPF), Planning and Economic Regulation, Legal, and Gas, briefed the delegation on their mandates and operational activities.

The visit forms part of ARDA’s ongoing efforts to foster collaboration and drive excellence across Africa’s petroleum industry.
