Agricultural Development Bank PLC (ADB) has reported a strong financial performance for the first half of 2026, posting a profit before tax of GH¢294 million despite operating in a declining interest rate environment.
The Bank announced the results during its second Health Walk and Annual Team Bonding Games, an event that brought together management, staff, customers and other stakeholders to promote employee wellness while celebrating the institution’s continued transformation.
Speaking at the event, Managing Director Edward Ato Sarpong attributed the Bank’s progress to the support of customers, employees, shareholders and other stakeholders.

“Our half-year results are a testament to our collective progress and the consolidation of the modest gains we have made together,” he said.
He added, “These achievements belong not only to ADB, but to every customer who has entrusted us with their business, every member of staff whose dedication continues to drive our success, every shareholder who has stood by us, and every stakeholder who believes in our vision.”
According to the Bank, the strong performance has propelled ADB to become the 11th most profitable bank in Ghana, marking a significant improvement from its position at the beginning of 2025.

ADB also recorded growth across its key financial indicators during the first six months of the year. Total assets increased by 33% to GH¢19.5 billion, while customer deposits rose 23% to GH¢14.9 billion. Shareholders’ funds also grew by approximately GH¢1.1 billion to GH¢2.6 billion.
The Bank maintained a healthy liquidity position and recorded a Capital Adequacy Ratio of 26.94%, reflecting what it described as prudent financial management and continued compliance with regulatory requirements.
Mr. Sarpong commended the Bank’s workforce for their role in driving the institution’s transformation and maintaining high service standards.
“To our dedicated pool of talents, I commend your professionalism, resilience and unwavering commitment to excellence. Your passion for service and determination to exceed expectations continue to drive the Bank’s transformation and position ADB as a stronger, more competitive institution,” he stated.

He also praised staff and participants for making the Health Walk and Annual Team Bonding Games successful, noting that employee wellness and teamwork remain essential to sustaining business growth and delivering value to customers and shareholders.
ADB said it remains focused on strengthening customer service, expanding its market presence and delivering innovative financial solutions that support wealth creation and national development as it continues its transformation journey.
