Adamus Resources Limited has emerged winner of the 2026 Inter-Mine First Aid and Safety Competition after a keenly contested event held live on GTV as part of the popular “What Do U Know?” quiz programme.
The competition brought together five leading mining companies in Ghana to assess their knowledge and preparedness in first aid and safety practices within the mining industry.
Adamus Resources Limited topped the competition with 77 points, while Newmont Ahafo North and Golden Star Wassa Limited placed joint second with 74 points each.
Zijin Golden Ridge Limited secured the third position with 73 points, while Damang Golden Ridge finished fourth with 52 points.
Seasoned lawyer and quiz moderator, Dan Afari Yeboah, congratulated all participating companies, particularly Adamus Resources Limited, for their impressive performance, resilience and competitive spirit.
He emphasised the importance of promoting a strong safety culture in mining operations, particularly among young Ghanaians seeking opportunities in the sector.
Adamus Resources Limited, a Ghanaian-owned mining company, currently provides employment opportunities for about 1,000 people in the Nzema area of the Western Region.
The company poured its first gold in January 2011 and has since been recognised for its operations in the mining sector.
The State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) describes Adamus Resources Limited as a fully functioning mine that conducts its activities responsibly, guided by environmental management systems and ethical considerations
