Actress Precious Fella Makafui has been arrested for allegedly selling unregistered products to the public.
The arrest, which took place on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, was facilitated by the investigative documentary filmmaking firm ISPYGH 247 in collaboration with the Pharmacy Council Ghana.
Fella Makafui is accused of engaging in unlawful activities related to the sale of unregistered drugs, false advertising, and disseminating unapproved adverts by the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA).
The arrest followed a six-month surveillance operation conducted by Akwasi Koranteng, the lead investigator, and his team of undercover journalists from ISPYGH 247.
They monitored Fella’s social media posts on platforms such as TikTok and Instagram to gather evidence of her illegal activities.
Following the arrest, authorities confiscated 16 different products from her shop in Mempeasem, including:

Tiger Herbal Mixture
Sweet Drip Honey
In a statement, investigators revealed that Fella admitted most of the products she sold were not registered with the FDA.
She was granted bail pending further investigation.
This joint operation aims to protect the public from harmful and unapproved products, ensuring adherence to pharmaceutical regulations and upholding standards of pharmaceutical care.
