The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana EXIM Bank, Sylvester Mensah, has led a team from the bank on a working visit to Buntaa Farms Limited to assess progress on a strategic investment in Ghana’s poultry sector.
During the visit, the Chief Executive Officer of Buntaa Farms Limited, Prof. Kwame Gyan, took the team through the farm’s operations, including the newly completed Layer House 2.
The facility, financed by Ghana EXIM Bank, is a fully automated layer house with a capacity of approximately 54,000 birds and is currently in the final stages of opening ahead of stocking.
Mr Mensah said the bank’s support goes beyond financing physical infrastructure, stressing the importance of financing productive capacity that can translate investments into increased production, income and employment.
He said the project aligns with the government’s 24-Hour Economy and Feed Ghana agenda, particularly in building productive capacity, strengthening food security, creating jobs and reducing reliance on imported poultry products through increased local production.
According to him, the investment also supports Ghana EXIM Bank’s mandate of promoting export-oriented growth and improving the competitiveness of Ghanaian businesses.
Mr Mensah said the bank would continue to support Ghanaian enterprises with the capacity to expand production, create value and generate employment by providing access to financing and strategic partnerships.
He assured Buntaa Farms of the bank’s continued support as the company works towards full-scale production and contributes to strengthening Ghana’s poultry value chain.
The investment is expected to contribute to increased domestic poultry production while supporting employment and food security.
Buntaa Farms Limited operates under the tagline: “Healthy Eggs… Healthy You.”
