The National Investment Bank PLC (NIB), in partnership with SIC Life, has launched a bancassurance service aimed at providing customers with integrated banking and insurance solutions.
The initiative brings banking and insurance services together to provide customers with greater access to financial protection, savings and long-term wealth management solutions.
Speaking at the launch, the Commissioner of the National Insurance Commission, Dr Abiba Zakariah, underscored the importance of financial protection and stronger collaboration between the banking and insurance sectors.
She said partnerships between financial institutions and insurers were important to expanding access to insurance and strengthening financial security for individuals and businesses.
The Managing Director of NIB, Chief Dr Doliwura Zakaria, described the partnership as a significant milestone in the bank’s transformation journey.
According to him, the initiative would expand customers’ access to financial protection, savings, education planning and long-term wealth solutions.
Representing the Chief of Staff, Hon. Seth Tekper, the Economic Advisor to the President highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships within the public sector in creating value for customers and promoting financial inclusion.
He said such collaborations could also contribute to broader national development by making financial services more accessible to Ghanaians.
The Director-General of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), Prof. Michael Kpessa-Whyte, also stressed the potential of public enterprises to leverage their respective strengths to create greater value and opportunities.
He said collaboration among state-owned enterprises and other institutions could help expand access to essential services while supporting national development.
NIB and SIC Life said they are committed to using the bancassurance partnership to help customers not only build wealth but also protect it through accessible financial and insurance solutions.
