The campaign team of New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary aspirant, Justin Frimpong Kodua (JFK), has denied allegations that he is preventing constituencies from arranging their own buses to transport delegates to Kumasi for the party’s national executive elections.
In a statement, the JFK Campaign Team described the allegations as “unfounded and incorrect,” stressing that Mr Kodua has no role in organising or administering the upcoming National Delegates Conference and National Executive Elections.
According to the campaign team, arrangements covering transportation, accommodation, feeding, accreditation, security and other logistics for the conference are not being handled by the Office of the General Secretary or the JFK Campaign Team.
It said responsibility for planning and conducting the national executive elections had been entrusted to the National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC).
“Any official arrangements regarding the transportation of delegates and other conference logistics therefore fall within the mandate of the appropriate election authorities, not JFK or his campaign team,” the statement said.
The campaign team urged delegates, party officers and members to disregard the allegations and focus on what it described as the facts surrounding the organisation of the elections.
It further accused some candidates of resorting to what it described as “baseless allegations and personal attacks” as the October 3 election approaches.
The campaign said Mr Kodua remained focused on engaging delegates on his record, reforms undertaken under his leadership and his plans to strengthen the structures of the NPP.
The team also wished the Elections Committee, all aspirants, delegates, party officers and supporters well ahead of the elections.
It extended safe-travel wishes to delegates and party members travelling to Kumasi for the national conference.
The NPP is scheduled to hold its National Delegates Conference and elect national officers on October 3, 2026, with the National Officers Elections Committee overseeing the electoral process.
