Daniella Mavis Mathias, former Office of the Vice President appointee and National Democratic Congress (NDC) member, has called on government appointees to replace consultants engaged under the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration with qualified professionals affiliated with the governing NDC.
In a Facebook post on Friday, July 10, 2026, Ms. Mathias argued that despite the change in government, several consultants who served under the NPP administration remain on government projects, even though the NDC has competent professionals capable of delivering similar or better results.
“Dear NDC Appointees, Some NPP people have been Consultants on government projects for 8 years and are still on government projects till date. NDC too has solid Consultants who can deliver even better. We beg do the needful,” she wrote.
Her comments add to growing concerns among some NDC supporters who say many party faithful are yet to secure appointments or employment opportunities despite the party’s return to power.
In recent months, sections of the party’s grassroots and sympathisers have openly expressed frustration over what they describe as the continued presence of individuals appointed under the previous NPP administration in various government institutions.
They argue that qualified NDC members who contributed to the party’s electoral victory should also be considered for opportunities within the current administration.
Daniella Mavis Mathias previously served as Personal Secretary to the late Victor Paul Obeng and was later appointed to the Office of the Vice President, a position she subsequently resigned from.
