Ghanaians residing in Denmark can now access instant issuance of the Ghanacard through the Ghana High Commission in Copenhagen under a streamlined registration process introduced by the National Identification Authority (NIA).
Under the arrangement, applicants are required to begin the registration process online through the NIA’s official portal before undergoing virtual verification and approval by dedicated NIA officials based in Ghana.
After completing the online application, applicants will only need to visit the Ghana High Commission in Copenhagen for biometric data capture, after which their Ghanacards will be issued instantly.
The initiative is expected to make access to the national identification card more convenient for Ghanaians living in Denmark by reducing travel requirements and accelerating the registration process.
Authorities have encouraged eligible Ghanaians to take advantage of the service by starting their applications through the NIA registration platform and completing the necessary verification procedures online before visiting the High Commission.
