Accordig to the Minister for Government Communications, Felic Kwakye Ofosu, the contractors have moved to the site to begin work on the 16,000-square-metre facility, which is expected to strengthen access to specialised emergency and trauma care in the region.
The Minister made the announcement in a Facebook post on Thursday October 1.
He explained that the hospital will include a 24-hour Accident and Emergency Unit equipped with trauma resuscitation bays and emergency operating theatres.
He stressed that the facility will also have an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), High Dependency Unit (HDU) and specialised trauma wards to support the management of critically ill and injured patients.
