Bank of Ghana Governor Dr. Johnson Pandit Asiama has appointed Second Deputy Governor Mrs. Matilda Asante-Asiedu as his authorized representative to attend and fully participate in all GoldBod Board meetings on his behalf, effective Monday, May 11, 2026.
In a letter addressed to the GoldBod Board, Dr. Asiama said Mrs. Asante-Asiedu had been duly nominated to represent his interests and exercise the rights and responsibilities vested in him as a member of the Board.
“Mrs. Asante-Asiedu is duly nominated to represent my interests, contribute to deliberations, and exercise all rights and responsibilities vested in me as a member of the Board,” he stated.
The Governor further requested that the necessary courtesies be extended to his representative to enable her to carry out the role effectively.
“Kindly extend to her the necessary courtesies to enable her to carry out this role effectively,” Dr. Asiama wrote.
The letter was copied to the First Deputy Governor and the Second Deputy Governor.
Mrs. Asante-Asiedu has served as Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana since May 2025. The Bank of Ghana says she serves on its Monetary Policy Committee and oversees areas including banking supervision, financial stability, finance and banking.
